Message from the organizing chair
I hope that you are doing well during these unusual and challenging times. The GLF-CEM is an organization which began about 11 years ago to bring leaders from academia and industry from around the world together to share ideas on building stronger academic programs and help shape our future construction industry leaders. We come together once a year to discuss and share common concerns in research, teaching, academic administration, and opportunities for collaboration. This year’s forum theme is “Looking into the Future: Challenges and Opportunities for CEM Research and Education.” The program consists of a keynote speech by Gerald Buckwalter on the future of resilient and sustainable infrastructure and three panel sessions addressing the following topics: the future vision of research and education in CEM, strengthening collaboration between academia and industry, and increasing women participation in both academia and practice. I sincerely thank the planning committee for their assistance in organizing this year’s conference. We hope that you gain useful insights as academic or practitioner leaders to continue improving the global construction industry.
Sincerely,
Lucio Soibelman,
Organizing Chairman, GLF-CEM 2017
