Message from the organizing chair
This event was organized and sponsored by the Division of Construction Engineering and Management, College of Engineering, Purdue University with generous contribution and support from the Office of International Programs (IP) and the Global Engineering Program (GEP) at Purdue University. Their sponsorship of this event is much appreciated. Before we introduce you to the event report of the First Global Leadership Forum for Construction Engineering and Management Programs (GLF-CEM), I would like to thank all 28 delegates who made this event possible and congratulate them for the success of this event. I would also like to thank my co- chairs Dr. Simaan Abourizk and Dr. Geoffrey Shen, for providing their invaluable support in making this event successful. Thank you for giving me the honor to continue as the Chair for the GLF-CEM. I am looking forward to working with you in bringing the forum to the next level.
I am glad to announce that all the brainstorming sessions that occurred at the first meeting have successfully laid the foundation for the future of GLF-CEM. We have accomplished the previously stated objectives of establishing a body of academic leadership in the area of construction engineering and management to discuss and share issues of common concern in research, teaching, academic administration, and opportunities for collaboration.
We have documented the events and their outcomes in this report for your reference and use in the future events and discussions.
Sincerely,
Makarand (Mark) Hastak, Ph.D., PE, CCP, CRIS
